Visa for Greece and EU Citizens
Visa for Greek and EU Citizens
Visas are not required for EU citizens who want to travel to Greece and other European Union (EU) countries. EU citizens can travel to EU countries without a visa with their passports or ID cards, thanks to the right of free movement provided by the Schengen Agreement. This allows EU citizens to travel without passport control between countries within the Schengen Area, including Greece.
For citizens of countries outside the EU, traveling to Greece usually requires a Schengen visa. In this case, the standard Schengen visa application documents mentioned above must be submitted. Citizens of non-EU countries who want to travel to Greece must apply to the Greek consulates or authorized visa application centers in their own country.
For EU citizens, travel to Greece is part of the right to free movement within the EU, which allows EU citizens to easily discover the cultural and historical riches of Greece. For citizens of non-EU countries, obtaining a Greece visa is an opportunity to discover the unique experiences the country has to offer. In both cases, it is important that travel plans are clear and realistic and that the necessary documents are prepared correctly.
